But you need Juize to keep on going!

“Juize?”

It means more than just your typical fruit style of juice.

It refers to your emotional juice, that which keeps you moving forward no matter the setback.

The juize that first got you into selling an app on the App Store.

One particular trait that is important to both of these is Decisiveness.

Four checks to make sure you hire a great iOS developer

With the proliferation of outsourcing and cheap development alternatives, we have to take a step back and make sure that who we are hiring can actually do the job.

Choosing the wrong developer can unfortunately be the biggest mistake of your short app business career :( .

But to those out there, who don’t understand code, let me clear the fog a bit.

Coding for iOS could be viewed as a mix of tools and materials, and if you know how to use them all then yeah, you can go out there and build something.

A bit like a newly trained carpenter that has learnt his trade and is plying his services around town.

The unfortunate aspect is that the newly trained carpenter then goes out there and offers their services to build houses and even buildings.

Why a smaller target market is more effective than a larger target market

There are times in life when smaller is better.David and Goliath

This is especially the case when it comes to condiments and spices.

As my poor long suffering other half will attest to.

But, one thing not so obvious is that more defined (and thus smaller) is also better when it comes to our target market for our app (or any business!).

And this is the reason why creating apps that service very niche markets can be very profitable.

By directly targeting that niche, you are creating a product that more effectively solves the needs of your market.

You are also able to better appeal to their needs and thus get a higher conversion on your marketing dollars.

But let me share with you a story to show you what I mean. :)

Saying that you should expect ‘failure’ isn’t the most positive outlook, I know. ;)

And it doesn’t sit too well when talking about your ‘Vision’ for your business.

BUT!… GUESS WHAT?!?

It happens.

It’s a fact of life that there are times (many of them) that you are going to fail.

Hell, I’ve failed a ton of times and will fail a ton more.

“Then what’s the point.”

The point is when you succeed.

Which is what the Vision is all about ;) … and why you hold onto it.

How to start patching up your leaking pot of gold

Pot of GoldOne of the problems of working on the App Store platform is just how limited it is in terms of taking advantage of traditional Sales & Marketing tactics and strategies.

Which is why we need to think outside the box to apply these proven methods.

Today the discussion is about a bleeding obvious topic that get’s ignored by most business owners – Attrition, which is basically users that have stopped using your app.

“But why does that matter?  Once I sell my app, it doesn’t matter if they keep using it or stop.”

A slightly different topic, but I’ll give you one short answer – Referrals.

They are free and have a huge impact on a clients purchasing decision.

I mean if you’re friend tells you to check out an awesome app, what are you gonna do?… How likely are you to buy it?

Electoral suicide and decreasing fertility linked?

Total nonsense by the way, I can confidently tell you they are not linked ;) .

Speaking of electoral suicide, I’m actually bi-partisan when it comes to elections.

I’m this way because generally a politician will get elected in based on popularity and to keep that popularity they need to listen to the general populace which essentially means hard decisions aren’t made.

Now, while I applaud Obama on his efforts to bring in free healthcare, the numbers just don’t add up when you look at the long term cost for a country that doesn’t have the money to pay for it.
